Pepper is made by Software Techniques Inc. in Roanoke, Virginia. This policy covers the Pepper app for iPhone and iPad and this website at playpepper.com.

Last updated September 24, 2026

The short version

  • You do not need an account to play.
  • Your games, settings, and stats stay on your device.
  • We do not sell or share your information.
  • Ask us and we will delete what we have.

♠The app

In the current test builds, you play Pepper against computer opponents on your own device. Your games, settings, and statistics are stored on the device itself. We do not ask you to create an account to play, and we do not sell or share your information. Online play with other people is planned for a later build, and we will update this policy to describe it before it ships.

If you use Report a Problem inside the app, your message, along with your device model and the app version, is sent to us by email so we can respond. If you send feedback through TestFlight, Apple shares that feedback with us, including a screenshot if you attach one and crash information from the build you are testing. Apple’s own privacy policy governs TestFlight.

♥This website

If you apply to be a tester, we collect the name, email address, state, device, and iOS version you enter on the form, plus what you tell us about your experience with the game, how your table plays, and whether you could bring a group or join a game night. We use it to decide who to invite, to send TestFlight invitations, and to send testing news.

If you ask to be notified when Pepper launches, we keep only your email address and use it to tell you when the app is available. Each message will include a way to stop hearing from us.

If you are given a forum account, your username, email address, and anything you post are stored with the site.

Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam, which sends Google information about your browser and device. Google’s privacy policy and terms of service apply.

The site runs on WordPress and sets cookies when you log in to the forum. Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.

♦Keeping and deleting information

We keep tester applications and forum accounts while testing is active. Write to us and we will delete your application, your forum account, or both.

♣Children

Pepper is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
